ACADEMY GUIDELINES

Course Breakdown

Eikonic Academy’s 40 week program is broken down into 2 semesters of 20 weeks for each semester.

Semester 1: Students will have their theoretical classes 2 days a week online, and 3 days a week on-campus.

Semester 2: Students  will have their practical hands-on training 5 days a week on-campus.

Program Hours

Daily attendance is critical, as proper time-management is crucial to the success of a salon professional.  Full-time students are scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:15pm, included are (2) 15-minute breaks and a (1) 45-minute lunch that is scheduled and at the discretion of the supervising Educator.

Scheduled School Closures

Eikonic Academy closes for all statutory holidays. No hours will be collected during this time.

The academy is closed for the following breaks:

• Winter Break: 2 weeks for Christmas and New Years

Snow Days and Inclement Weather

During inclement weather days, Eikonic Academy adheres to Peel Public School Board when deciding whether to close.  All announcements for school closures will happen before 7am on WhatsApp class chats and on the Notion.so app.  When school closure occurs due to inclement weather, the following will happen:

• All students who have online learning on a day the school has cancelled class due to weather related issues will still have their regular homework assignments for that day, with no changes.
• All students who have in-person learning on a day the school has cancelled class due to weather related issues will have their learning day pushed back, with no penalties to the student or their learning path.

Should school closure due to inclement weather happen when a day has already started, students who were already at school will be allowed to go home while earning full hours for the day.  The students who were not at school will not receive hours.
